we are excited to announce our participation in the upcoming 99U conference, as part of our sponsoring initiatives. the goal of the 99U conference is to shift the focus from idea generation to idea execution. Providing road-tested insights on how to make your ideas happen. the conference take place on april 30 - may 1 2015 at the alice tully hall, lincoln center.

earlier this year, on the occasion of the international year of light declared by the united nations, we had the honor to speak at the zumtobel lichtforum at vienna about our approach to light.

on april 17th y the zumtobel group organized a special year of light event at their headquarters in dornbirn, and at the bregenz festspielhaus. zumtobel invited 950 guests from 27 countries to attend a program of inspiring lectures, a presentation of product innovations by thorn, tridonic and zumtobel, as well as of the winners of the zumtobel group award. all attendees received custom made year of light tabtags to decorate their macbooks. the glowing apple logo gets covered, blocking the light, but leaving the words "year of light" glow. the thoroughly and environmentally friendly produced tabtags can be peeled off easily and reused various times. 

creative mornings vienna is a breakfast lecture series for the creative community in vienna and we are happy to sponsor them with nice costumer tabtags. anyone can attend the events, just register beforehand to reserve your spot and we can meet there.

marcus griffiths form nu-gadget tested tabtag and wrote a detailed review including a video showing how tabtags glow. we are very happy about such a great feedback!

my high standards were:

• impressive decal design that uses the macbook apple logo light
• decals that are premium in quality and reusable - I want to swap decals without having to throw them away
• both fun decal designs for home and professional designs for work

after much searching a funded kickstarter project called tabtag took my eye. there are 40 great decal designs on offer and they are reusable. I couldn’t wait to try one out (or two) out and was certainly not disappointed!

we are happy and proud the adhocrates collective forms part of our tabtag artists and made unique, cheeky and fun tabtag designs. you can check them out here.

the adhocrates collective is a multidisciplinary design studio/art collective based in vienna. the core members are kathi macheiner (aka. sixxa) and lilo krebernik (aka. deadlemming) but depending on projects there are several other members involved frequently and other artists temporarily part of the collective.

their range of work includes illustration and character design as well as a series of designs for snowboard and skateboard brands, and also several clothing labels. and the adhocrates are often putting out their own products with projects like sixxa clothing or adhoc skateboards. their most highlighted projects are installations, for example a character shaped skatebowl with a 6m tall sculpture casted out of it, or the recent project „brobdingnag gift shop“ – 10:1 scaled wooden toys that can be interacted with.

the austrian newspaper "kurier" included tabtag in it's selection of original christmas presents. the article explains that tabtags partially block the light of the glowing apple on macbooks and only lets pass pass the light in defined areas and colors, allowing for infinite possibilities to individualize your macbook.

the austrian online magazine veganblatt just published a great article about tabtag. they explain the glowing and reusable qualities and emphasize that this product is completely vegan and produced in austria. further more they explain that tabtag offers great ways to put a message on ones macbook and make it stand out. we are happy to provide these conscious and thoughtful persons with glowing macbook stickers to make them shine.
